Another slow week of news but never fear, there's still things to look at!
With the BAFTAS over, I can only assume all award shows, ceremonies, etc for 2010 are finally done so let's take a peek at the
awards Red Dead Redemption has racked up for Rockstar Games.
Red Dead Redemption had literally TONS of nominations from gaming websites, award shows, and other media - too many for me to count with a public school educayshun. The game also lassoed plenty of those nominations for Rockstar Games too.
Red Dead Devs at Game Developers Conference 2011
Including specific ones for Action/Adventure, Red Dead Redemption took home 15 Game of the Year awards out of 17 possible ones we've listed (GameSpot had both and RDR won both). RDR also won GameSpot's Best Xbox 360 and Best PS3 Game. Even if the game didn't win the top spot, it was usually near the top anyway.
Various awards were handed to Rockstar for RDR's audio and
music which set the tone for various points in the game. A notable noiminee and winner of one award was José González for his song, Far Away. The
Undead Nightmare DLC also took a few awards too as Best DLC. The DLC also took Game of the Year itself as a tie with the regular game from FHM Magazine. Red Dead Redemption also had a few other noteworthy achievements including being a part of the TV game show Jeopardy.
Overall there's 65 awards from
our list including fan choices. Most impressive and definitely worthy of each one and more! Congrats to Rockstar Games, Rockstar San Diego and everyone else that made this game so great including the fans! Let us know if we've missed some in the comments below or on the
Red Dead Redemption Award page!
