Brimstone 5

At various points of the story, Red will end up in Brimstone. This works as a sort of interlude between missions and you're free to explore the town, speak to the citizens and visit a number of shops to purchase items - including weapons and useful upgrades - with your hard earned cash.

Each time you visit Brimstone, the shop inventory will slightly differ, so if you want to buy everything in the game, you'll need to purchase everything they have each time you visit. You'll struggle on your first playthrough as you probably won't have enough money though, but be aware that many of the most expensive items can be unlocked for free by completing in-game challenges.

Chapter 22 - Brimstone

Cutscene

Red arrives in Brimstone as a bunch of people are waiting for him on the main street, including Jack Swift, Annie Stoakes, Kid Cougar and Mr. Kelley.

"Come to try your hand at the $5000 in gold I see" Jack asks Red, who ignores him. "You are a man of few words, I respect that. I truly do" continues Jack.

We then see Annie pushing away Mr. Kelley who is bothering her, before Jack reintroduces them sying "I believe you are somewhat acquainted with Miss Stoakes".

Red tips his hat tp her as she asks "Did you find what you were lookin' for, stranger?"

"I reckon' I did" responds Red.

"Did you see a Buffalo Soldier ride into town?" asks Red.

Suddenly he's interrupted from another voice. "That BOY! He won't be causing the governor any more problems" says Mr. Kelley. "I do hope you are planning to attend the Battle Royale. I would very much look forward to beating an adversary of your talent" he continues.

"I just signed up" states Red, before pushing him out of the way and continuing down the street with Jack and Annie.

You're now free to explore the town of Brimstone, however be warned that this is the final time you'll be able to do this in the game.

If you have the cash, make your way around the shops and buy everything they have available or it'll have to wait until your next playthrough!

The Bank

Located on the main street, next to the kid selling newspapers.

General Store

Located on the main street, directly opposite the bank and the newspaper kid.

The Tailor

Located at the top corner of the main street, facing the Sheriff's office and the Saloon.

The Gun Shop

Located opposite the Saloon, next to the Tailor.

Located opposite the Tailor / Gun Shop, next to the Sheriff's office.

Once you're done shopping, enter the Sheriff's office.

Once inside, you'll actually be able to walk around. Press Square to talk with Sheriff Bartlett.

Cutscene

"Well, Red, I guess you are here for one reason, right? You want to enter the Battle Royale?" asks Sheriff Bartlett. "Well, if I was you, I'd get my affairs in order before you enter" he advises, as a subtle hint to suggest this is the last time you'll be able to go shopping in the game, and possibly recommending you purchase a new, more powerful weapon like the Widowmaker from the Gun Shop.

"Mr. Kelley has been the champion for four years now, and looks as if he's still the one to beat, though he's definitely got a tougher time on his hands this year" explains the Sheriff.

"Had that English fellow, Swift, in here earlier signing up and Annie Stoakes wants to throw her hat in the ring too" continues Bartlett.

"So Red, what you going to do? You want to enter the Battle Royale too?" he asks, one final time.

You now have a choice. Press Square to accept or Triangle to decline. In order to continue the game, you'll have to accept, however if you forgot to do one final round of shopping in Brimstone, decline and head back outside. When you're ready to start the next chapter, press Square to accept.
